Pennydance is a spending tracker app for Android and iPhone. You log a purchase in a few seconds by typing or speaking it, keep a photo of what you bought, and see every subscription in one list. There are no ads, no account and no bank login, and your ledger stays on your phone.
No. You log buys yourself: type “oat latte 6.25”, say it out loud, or snap the receipt with Premium. Pennydance never asks for a bank login, so your bank credentials never leave your hands. The trade-off is that card transactions are not imported automatically.
Yes. Because you log each buy yourself, cash counts exactly like a card purchase. Apps that sync with a bank only see what goes through the bank, so cash spending never shows up in them.
Yes. The Free plan costs $0 forever and includes 100 new entries a month, voice quick-add, your subscription list, full spending reports and calendar, and CSV export. There are no ads on any plan. Plus is a one-time $5.99 for unlimited entries, renewal reminders, photos and more themes. Premium is $3.99 a month or $39.99 a year and adds AI quick-add and receipt scanning. On your phone. There is no account to create, and our servers do not keep your ledger. You can lock the app with App Lock and export everything to CSV at any time.
Log a subscription once, for example “netflix 15.49/mo”, and it repeats every billing cycle. The Recurring screen shows what is due this month and what all your subscriptions cost per year. Plus adds a reminder the day before anything renews. Pennydance does not cancel subscriptions for you; it keeps the list so nothing renews by surprise.
It is mainly a spending tracker: it records where your money went, so you can see it by category, day and month. If you want a limit, turn on Spending Power, set a monthly amount, and Home shows what is left. There are no envelopes and no bank sync.
AI is part of Premium and runs only when you tap the sparkle button, never in the background. It turns a messy note or a receipt photo into clean entries: item, quantity, price, store and category. The request passes through our relay, which keeps nothing, to the AI model, and the entry comes back to your phone. Our AI provider has committed not to train on it.
